\nThe\nart director of Icone received the world’s oldest and most\nprestigious award for Italian design.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the evening of Monday 20 June in the spaces of the ADI Design Museum, awards were presented to the winners of the XXVII Compasso d’Oro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among them, Giulio Cappellini <\/strong>the creative director of Icone Luce, received the Compasso d’Oro to the carrier for his fundamental contribution to the world of design and for his tireless research in the field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThe\naward is a tribute to the profound curiosity, far-sightedness and\naudacity of Giulio Cappellini, known internationally as one of the\nsector’s leading trendsetters and talent scouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Great passion, great desire to work and above all the thought that there is still a lot to be done in design<\/strong>: it is not true that everything has already been designed<\/em>“.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In accepting the award Giulio Cappellini recalls a master: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think our task is, yes, to create useful and beautiful objects, but, as the great Castiglioni said, also to make people smile and dream<\/em>“. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\nHe\nwas responsible for the discovery of great professionals, from Jasper\nMorrison to Nendo, passing through Marc Newson, Marcel Wanders and\nthe Bouroullec brothers to Elena Salmistraro, Mat\u011bj Jansk\u00fd and\nCyril Dund\u011bra, Leonardo Talarico, Stefano Panterotto and Alexis\nTourron, Johan Lindst\u00e9n and Sebastian Herkner many have emerged and\ngrown thanks to his foresight and support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
