At Icone Talks we talk about the importance of emotionally involving the user of a product with a message with which to identify.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nTwo\ndesigners face each other: Antonio Facco, a young and already\nsuccessful professional, and his mentor, Giulio Cappellini,\ninternationally renowned personality in the field of design and art\ndirector of Icone. The conversation takes place online, but the two\nare closer than ever, in fact they have known each other for more\nthan ten years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nProduct\ndesign today has a problem, recognized by many: it has bowed to the\nlogic of the market and listens more to the call of consumerism than\nto the voices of the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n“We\nare all a little bit victims of the constant exposure, of social\nmedia, of the continuous flow of stimuli: products, advertising,\nimages… Everything is always better presented, disguised and\nconstructed”, comments Antonio Facco, who adds: “The\nparadigm of design has changed, today it is important to work in\nmultidisciplinary, transversal teams and try to control the project\nat 360\u00b0, bringing it on more complex structures starting from those\nalready consolidated”.

\nGiulio Cappellini goes beyond\nthe commercial need, with a vision that involves the users of design\nobjects, the people: “For me, with design we must also try to\nmake people smile and dream. In the creative process, empathy is\ntherefore important”.
\n“I agree” – comments\nAntonio Facco – “To make a product meaningful it doesn’t have to\nbe born from an advanced technology. It can also have a meaningful\nmessage. Empathy with the public, with the customer, with the company\nis the fundamental ingredient to make design”.
\nHow does\nAntonio apply empathy to projects? “I try to tell something new,\nto empathize with that thought myself before bringing it to others.\nIt’s an ingredient that’s always been there, it created Made in\nItaly, a process that started with the dialogue between entrepreneurs\nand designers.”
