\nThe\nhouse becomes an office, thus changing the way of understanding\nlight.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nWhen\nwe think of the concept of smart working we refer to the management\nof work from home throughout the day, thinking more in terms of\nobjectives rather than hours spent. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n“Smart”,\nhowever, must also be the environment in which one works, in terms of\nergonomics, because this aspect has a strong impact on well-being,\nefficiency and performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nAs\nin the office, ergonomics is fundamental for the workstation at home\nand lighting is one of those key components that is often\nunderestimated. In fact, there is what can be called \u201cergonomic\nlighting<\/strong><\/a>\u201d,\n which is essential for well-being in the workplace, in the office as\nwell as at home, and for the prevention of so-called \u201cartificial\nvision syndrome<\/strong><\/a>\u201d,\n which brings symptoms such as blurred vision, dry eyes, and\nheadaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nImproper lighting, whether too little or too much, is a significant\ncontributor to eyestrain. Proper lighting, without shadows or glare,\ncan reduce eye fatigue and headaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nLighting ergonomics is the relationship between an individual and the\nlight source. In one’s home, one would think that normal residential\nlighting might be sufficient, but this is not the case when one works\nfor several hours in those rooms. With the rise of smart working,\nthis complexity has been added to the lighting in the home, which\nmust now provide the highest degree of comfort during the time spent\nin front of the computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nTo achieve ergonomic lighting, one must first ensure adequate\nlighting – 300-500 lux – around the workstation. Poor lighting forces\nthe eyes to work harder, causing fatigue and headaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nOver-reliance on direct lighting leads to dark areas and shadows\naround the workstation, another type of improper lighting that causes\neye fatigue and headaches. Combining direct and indirect lighting is\nthe best lighting arrangement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nDirect and indirect reflections, cause glare. They are often due to\nlight sources entering the field of vision directly or indirectly by\nreflecting off of shiny surfaces. It is a problem that can be\nremedied with curtains, positioning at ninety degrees to the window\nand other measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nIt is preferable to use lights with a cooler color temperature, which\nimproves mood and alertness. It is also necessary to ensure adequate\ncontrast between the background and foreground, especially of the\nwork monitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nIn general, for the right lighting ergonomics is better to prefer\nlamps with adjustable brightness, because they allow you to adjust\nthe light to the perfect level of atmosphere depending on the\nactivity of the moment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
