Growth and Outlook in the Lighting Industry: 2023 Market Analysis.

According to a study by Intesa Sanpaolo (“The scenario for the furniture and lighting sector: challenges and growth opportunities”), in 2022 the Italian lighting sector recorded an export growth of 8.5%. In particular, sales of lighting equipment and lamps in the United States increased by 27.7%, reaching 1.9 billion euros.

Despite difficulties related to rising costs of raw materials and energy, forecasts for 2023-2024 are for a slowdown but not a halt in growth. Interesting opportunities are emerging in China and other Asian countries where Made in Italy lighting still has room for expansion.

To compete in this scenario, it is crucial for Italian companies to focus on energy efficiency, green investments, innovation and quality. In particular, design, which represents a strength of Italian companies, can make a decisive contribution to the development of sustainable and distinctive products.

The Italian lighting industry therefore faces new challenges but also interesting growth opportunities, leveraging its strengths such as design and the reputation of Made in Italy. Investing in innovation, sustainability and marketing will be the key to successfully competing in global markets.
