A wall of light with 120 thousand compact discs

‘Ribbon of light’ is a tribute to the fight against Coronavirus.

British artist BruceMunro is best known for large-scale immersive light installations, largely inspired by his interest in sharing human experience.

Through the recording of ideas and images in notebooks, for over 30 years he has captured his impressions and responses to stimuli such as music, literature, science and the world around him, as a reference and reflection.

This tendency was combined with a preference for components and an inventive drive for reuse, combined with professional training in the manufacture of light. The result of these experiences led Munro to produce both temporary experiential monumental works and intimate stories.

Studio Bruce Munro is creating a celebratory work, a ribbon sparkling with light along the crest of Long Knoll hill in Wiltshire. ‘Ribbonof light‘ is a tribute to the work and dedication of the health workers and volunteers of the British national health service, engaged in the care of the many infected by the Covid-19 virus.

This installation, consisting of 120,000 compact discs, will extend for 1,650 meters adjacent to the public path and will be visible to everyone.
